| Customer Reviews: Not as good as non-eco friendly brand name diapers September 4, 2010 J. Wagner We got these diapers because of their "green" qualities such as limited chemical use and biodegradability compared to brand name diapers. Babies generate astounding amounts of waste, and plastic diapers are by far the lion's share of the refuse. We are currently using them for our 6 week old.
The main dislikes: Poor seal, poor absorbency, poor fit. When baby has a large BM, about 20% of the time it will squeeze up the back and make it out of the diaper and onto whatever is there - clothes, bedding, you, etc... There is no "seal" or barrier to prevent this from happening. Maybe this isn't as much of an issue for formula babies as their stool is different, but for a breast-fed baby the stool is very liquid and goes everywhere. I've actually had better success installing the diaper backwards, of all things! As far as the absorbency goes, urine has the same issue, but it is more likely to squeeze out the leg openings. This is a more rare occurrence compared to the BM issue, though. The fit is part of the two other issues by allowing this leakage to occur, but another complaint I have about the fit is the limited elasticity of the waist which tends to result in fastening the diaper more tightly than necessary. Add to that the fact that there is very little to prevent the fastening straps from pressing on and creating a sore spot on the baby's leg. Limited elasticity there too.
The good points for the diaper are the obvious "green" characteristics, but we'll probably try 7th Generation diapers next and see how they are.
Eco friendly! September 3, 2010 NToComputers (Altamonte Springs, FL United States) We've been using these diapers for months and love them. 70% biodegradeable which means I'm reducing the impact on land-fills and I still get the convenience of a disposable diaper! They're also chlorine free. With subscribe and save the pricing is comparable to traditional disposable diapers and they arrive on my door step... fantastic!
great diapers August 31, 2010 Joanna Strezo (chicago, usa) I love these diapers from the beginning, I was really concern about what I put on my baby bottom. I want it to pick a diapers that are free of chemicals, harsh materials that go on my baby skin. I use them from the early stage and I'm happy that there is a choice, not pampers and huggies:( or even 7th generation or Earth best that I have also used in between which are better alternative to regular, toxic ones. For me it's very important what goes and stays on my baby skin, after all babies spend in diapers 24 hrs a day, so their skin need to breath and absorb no dangerous substances. They are great, on the outside they feel like a paper, but inside are soft, my son never had any diaper rush cause diapers are all breathable not just the sides like the other two I've mention early. This is great choice if you don't wanna use plastic ones and wash the cloth ones...luv them, my son is going on 5 months and we can't give up on those ever!!
love it- but runs very small! August 27, 2010 C.M.J. this is a great diaper but beware-- it's very small. we bought size 2 12-18 lbs. My son is now 13 or 14 pounds and these no longer fit. Bummer!
I will order size 3 now for him.
Other than sizing I'm very satisfied.
Great diapers August 25, 2010 EcoMom We used these diapers from birth until our son was potty trained. They are a bit stiff compared with other brands but they never seemed to bother our son. They were the most environmentally friendly disposable diapers I could find. I also found that they worked best at night for our son. Whenever he would leak at night that would be my sign to move up to the next size. The sizes on the packages didn't always match what my son was wearing.
