| Customer Reviews: Good coffee but could use more strength July 29, 2010 theron The Coffee People Kona Blend, Extra Bold has a great flavor, but it could use a bit more boldness to qualify as "Extra Bold". It still is one of my favorites and goes well anytime of day. The 50 pack is really economical when combined with the subscription service.
Takes Me Back to My Days in Ewa Beach July 28, 2010 Neil C. McEvoy (Malden, MA USA) This blend became my favorite coffee while stationed in Hawaii while in the U.S. Navy. I sent several bags of Kona back to the mainland in my household goods shipment!
I've tried several brands since returning to the mainland - and this particular blend comes the closest! The price point provided for this 50-pack of K cups seals the deal!
Highly recommended!
Great Addition to our coffee drinking lineup July 28, 2010 Jerry Walker (Dallas, TX) Apparently, I don't have the delicate taste to note each hint of some flavor. So I'll leave the analysis of coffees to others. And I am not going to say that this is the absolute one coffee that is my favorite from now on. But after spending too much money on too many varieties of coffees, we have settled on three non-flavored coffees that we intend to keep in our stock. Those are Newman's Own Extra Bold, Caribou Blend, and this Coffee People Kona Blend. In our opinion all three coffees are smooth and lacking of any bitterness. To our tastes, the Kona seems to be very faintly fruity, but maybe that's our imagination.
We've had a Keurig brewer for about seven months and were beginning to think that we might become real coffee snobs, able to distinguish the subtle differences between one brand and another. But let me tell you, do what we just did, and a cup of Coffee People Kona Blend will cause you to pass out in ecstasy. We have been away from home for the past week and have been forced to drink all sorts of exotically and no named coffees. Not a single Keurig brewed coffee passed our lips. Upon our return home this afternoon, we discovered that even the coffees we previously banned from the kitchen counter, taste awfully good. I can hardly wait until I get a cup of Kona Blend tomorrow morning.
I've got to pass on one other comment. This Coffee People Kona Blend was the first k-cup coffee that we have ordered from amazon.com. We noticed the mention of frustration-free packaging. That meant nothing to us. But it does now. We think that packaging may be the one failure of the entire k-cup line of coffees. It is my job to keep the coffees out and ready, and I dread having to open a new box and tear down the old one for recycling. We were happy to find that this frustration-free packaging that amazon offers, makes my chore very simple. Both the opening and tearing apart of these boxes is simple. You might not think that opening a box or throwing one away could be that important, but it is around here.
Great full body with no burnt taste July 25, 2010 Morganna Wolf (Pacific NW) I have tried several types of Kona blends in the K-cups.
So far this is my favorite. I also really like that it is a Coffee People brand. This coffee is a bit of a darker roast but still a full taste with no burnt taste.
Coupled with subscribe and save it is a great value.
Kona is weak July 24, 2010 Nancy Hoskins (Peru, NY USA) I love the price and easy packaging, but the Kona is a bit weak for me. I wish Extra Bold always meant exactly that!!!
