This changing pad is really great. Here are a few observations:
It comes with two 4~6 inch straps on one side so that you can secure it to a wall or furniture using some screws, and then a long locking strap in the middle to secure your child. I never use any of the straps though. Why? The non-skid bottom really really works. It will not skid! I have no reason to use the furniture anchors because this thing will not skid. And the contour is enough to keep my small baby in the middle. (Of course as she gets bigger I will need to use the straps.)
Also, the pad is very light so I carry it around the house and use it wherever my daughter needs to be changed.
Warning about using a changing pad cover:
When we put a changing pad cover on it, it lifted up the corners just enough to make the pad slide around. To take full advantage of the non-skid bottom, you cannot use a changing pad that covers any part of the bottom surface. The pad doesn't really need a cover since it is waterproof by itself. We have spilled things on it, and it cleans up right away with a rag.

This is my second Simmons changing table pad and I love them. The quality is very good and the pad truly does not slip. I have placed one on a free standing changing table and the other on top of a dresser and both work beautifully. The pad is soft but sturdy. We have owned one for 3 years and even though we use it daily, it feels the same as the brand new one.

This changing pad is awesome! I love the non-skid bottom, contoured sides and the easy-to-clean surface. This is my 5th child, and I wish I had had this changing pad with the other four.

My cats destroyed the changing pad that came with my 27 year old changing table--thought it made a great scratching post! So when my son and daughter-in-law came to visit with a newborn, I had to buy a new changing pad. After scrolling through dozens of choices, the reviews and look of this one had me clicking "add to cart."
This is a wonderful pad. It has a non-skid bottom which is nice for a squirming newborn. It is also much thicker than the original pad that came with the table some 27 years ago. The straps are a nice addition too for the rare times you might have to strap the baby in. They are placed in such a way that a cover fits on the pad with no problem.
I highly recommend it and if like me you have held on to your child's changing table for some 27 years, it would make a great replacement for the original padding.
