| Customer Reviews: Horrible deal September 3, 2010 prashanth Save your money, just stop by the local "chinese grocery store" and buy "Parrot" brand coconut water. I've been using it for years now and its waaaaaay cheaper. Tastes just as great.
Great taste. September 1, 2010 MK (Poughkeepsie, NY) I drink it all the time and granted I never drank straight out of a coconut, but I know ppl who have. I gave them a bottle to try and they thought it was excellent. I'd recommend getting this one instead of the others that are out there.
Tastes ruined! August 31, 2010 country girl at heart Possibly it's because we've been having record heat here this summer when this was enroute, but I've opened one container, and it tasted sour and rotten. I immediately looked at the returns policy, too late. It cannot be returned. I'll try another one, but chances aren't good that it will taste any differently.
Pretty Tasty Indeed August 29, 2010 Joe Schmoe (Manhattan) Hadn't tried VC in a year or so, and it was pleasantly tasty. I suggest this brand if they are out of Zico.
This is real coconut water... Cheaper at costco August 29, 2010 M 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I lived in south India for several years, where you get fresh coconut at every corner of the street on road side sellers in bicycle where they cut it fresh from coconut trees. The taste of the coconut water varies based on the soil and water from where it grow. I tried the so-called fresh young coconuts at various farmers market here but they all had some peculiar taste, which I never liked and never tasted like what you get in India, may be because they were imported from Thailand or a nearby island several weeks ago and may be they were grown with specific chemical to last long. The real coconut will not last more than two to three weeks. All the canned ones in farmers marker were also altered and never real coconut water. I tried one from Whole Foods, where it tasted real but not great. I bought this 12 pack from Costco for only 11.xx and it tasted much real and exactly like what I get in India. I saw this founders video in youtube where he mentioned he started this from Brazil, because they drink this next to water there, so may be this is imported from Brazil. Only one mystery is how the taste of all 12 packs I consumed were all sweet, which is not the case if you drink 12 real young coconuts in a row. Atleast couple of them will be tasteless. But for sure these never taste like added sugar and they taste real young coconut water. These are very good natural hydrates, so go get it at Costco.
